Bio

The Band:
J.F.K is the rock-colab brainchild of Perth composer James Knox. Formed in 2016 with songs written + recorded and produced almost entirely by overlord Knox, the group draws its members from several local acts to craft a garage rock Frankenstein of sorts. With catchy Britpop beats and floating psychedelic melodies and a strong dose of string quartet sparkle, these lads in suits lay down tunes so cool you'll wish you brought a jumper.

The Composer:
James F Knox (J.F.K) is a composer, multi-instrumentalist and producer from Perth Western Australia. He is currently studying a Graduate Diploma of Music at the acclaimed Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts majoring in contemporary composition. James writes, performs and produces music for J.F.K, The Sky Blues, Treehouses, From the Dunes and Girl York.

After watching The Beatles' Yellow Submarine movie too many times as a child James soon realised that making music was his only option. He was quickly drawn into the industry; passing through the Western Australian Youth Orchestra system as a violinist and soon expanded his instrumental vocabulary in high school by picking up drums, bass guitar, piano and voice. Since his first attept at songwriting (which landed him a spot on the 2014 Big Day Out lineup after winning a National competition) James has gradually been infiltrating the Australian music scene with his weird garage-psych-pop sounds.
